With just weeks left until the November 15th release of their debut album with Big Machine Label Group, Ocean, Lady Antebellum has released yet another preview track, “Boots.” Co-written by Charles Kelley and Ross Copperman (“John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” “Love Ain’t”, “Get Along”), the track is a rocking uptempo to contrast with the […]
About Nicole Piering
Nicole Piering is a contributing writer for NYCountry Swag.
Nicole grew up on Long Island, saying that she liked "all types of music, except country." That all changed when she randomly attended a Rascal Flatts concert at Madison Square Garden in 2007 and was immediately hooked. She'd argue that she became a country fan before country was cool, traveling around the tri-state area (and sometimes further) to attend country shows before artists started making NYC a tour stop. In addition to her love of country music, Nicole loves all things Disney-related. You can find her on Instagram at @NicolePiering.

While you may not be familiar with Ernest just yet, chances are you’ve heard a song or two that he’s had a hand in writing. With cuts by Florida Georgia Line (“Dig Your Roots”), Chris Lane (“Big, Big Plans”), Jake Owen, LoCash, Mason Ramsey, and more, he’s been making a name for himself in Nashville […]
Steve Moakler is back with new music, releasing his new EP Pocket 1, today. The three-song collection comes in advance of his forthcoming album, Blue Jeans, due out in 2020. The songs show Moakler as more mature and yet more vulnerable, reflecting on fatherhood, marriage, and all of the changes that come with growing up. […]
Opening with a stirring and solo piano melody, Lady Antebellum’s “Ocean” immediately sweeps listeners away. Much like the tide, the song ebbs and flows musically, cresting over the piano and the group’s unmatched harmonies. Featuring Hillary Scott on lead vocals and Dave Haywood on piano, the song is a lush and harmonic, showing the trio […]
On paper, The Highwomen might not seem to make much sense. You have pop-country’s reigning “It Girl,” a superstar songwriter, an Americana queen, and a Grammy winner who’s always deserved more attention than she’s received. Yet, somehow, the diverse foursome of Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby, Amanda Shires, and Brandi Carlile is one of the best […]
Nashville-based duo Jill and Kate are through with messing around. On their new single, “Just Kiss Me,” the pair is tired of a wishy-washy dude and are ready to take things out of the friend zone with one simple action: a kiss. We’ve all been there, which makes the fun up-tempo track all the better. […]
When it comes to the all-time great female vocalists in country music, it would be impossible to not mention Trisha Yearwood. Today (August 30), the songstress released her new album, Every Girl, her first original solo project since 2007’s Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love. When speaking of the project, Yearwood reveals, “I like […]
For singer-songwriter Canaan Smith, it’s the perfect time to celebrate being a country boy. On his new song “Country Boy Things,” released today, August 23, he’s doing just that, with an up-tempo ode to all of the things that makes country boys special. Just last week, Smith released the rollicking summer anthem, “Beer Drinking Weather,” […]
You know the feeling: It’s the middle of summer and you’re ready for sunrise, sunset, sunburn, repeat. However, sometimes the weather has other ideas and the skies are gray. While you’d like to believe that “rain is a good thing,” it’s not always the easiest mindset when your pool parties and barbecues are getting […]

Today (August 2), the rising superstar released “Let’s Just Be Friends,” a track from the forthcoming The Angry Birds Movie 2. On the uptempo and inspiring track, […]
