As an artist, there’s nothing Thomas Rhett can’t do. He’s made us dance with “T-Shirt” and “Craving You”, he’s made us swoon with “Die a Happy Man”, and now he’s making us cry with his newest release, “Remember You Young.” Co-written by Rhett, Jesse Frasure, and Ashley Gorley, the track is a nostalgic one, recalling […]
About Nicole Piering
Nicole Piering is a contributing writer for NYCountry Swag.
Nicole grew up on Long Island, saying that she liked "all types of music, except country." That all changed when she randomly attended a Rascal Flatts concert at Madison Square Garden in 2007 and was immediately hooked. She'd argue that she became a country fan before country was cool, traveling around the tri-state area (and sometimes further) to attend country shows before artists started making NYC a tour stop. In addition to her love of country music, Nicole loves all things Disney-related. You can find her on Instagram at @NicolePiering.

Here, […]
Almost immediately, one can sense that there’s something inherently different about Reba’s album, Stronger Than the Truth (out April 5). It speaks to the soul in a way most modern country albums fail to. On each of the collection’s twelve tracks, the famous redhead flexes her impeccable vocal talent, her distinct voice wrapping itself around […]
Since bursting onto the scene with “Drinkin’ Problem” in 2016, Midland has been one of the best things to happen to country music. Their sound and style is distinct, somehow perfectly toeing the line between retro and modern. While their schtick could easily become hokey, the trio has managed to avoid that pitfall by continuously […]
Since the earliest days of her career, Reba has released songs with interesting stories and valuable messages. While some of the stories tend towards the macabre, other Reba tracks are ripe with life experience and advice that we could stand to hear. As we prepare for the April 5 release of her new album, […]

With just one week until the March 29 release of his new album, Greetings From…Jake, Jake Owen released “That’s On Me” today (March 22). “I feel stupid telling my mom, one more time that we’re back together,” St. Louis native Renee Blair sings at the beginning of her new song, “Better Off.” Honest lyrics like that that are bound to nab a listener’s attention immediately. On the sassy new single, released today, rising country star Blair tells an on-and-off […]
While country duo Smithfield may be best known for their dark 2018 single, “Hey Whiskey,” the rising stars are back with a much sunnier EP, We Make Our Own. The EP, released today (March 1), is the first project the duo has released in three years, reflecting a more mature and polished pair. The seven-track […]
When it comes to sass, Kassi Ashton has it in spades, as evidenced by her new video for “Violins.” In what’s easily the most compelling high-school-themed video since Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time,” Ashton somehow manages to both put a suitor on blast and make marching bands incredibly cool. Co-written by Ashton, Luke Dick, […]
