You know the feeling: It’s the middle of summer and you’re ready for sunrise, sunset, sunburn, repeat. However, sometimes the weather has other ideas and the skies are gray. While you’d like to believe that “rain is a good thing,” it’s not always the easiest mindset when your pool parties and barbecues are getting […]
About Nicole Piering
Nicole Piering is a contributing writer for NYCountry Swag.
Nicole grew up on Long Island, saying that she liked "all types of music, except country." That all changed when she randomly attended a Rascal Flatts concert at Madison Square Garden in 2007 and was immediately hooked. She'd argue that she became a country fan before country was cool, traveling around the tri-state area (and sometimes further) to attend country shows before artists started making NYC a tour stop. In addition to her love of country music, Nicole loves all things Disney-related. You can find her on Instagram at @NicolePiering.

Luke Combs has truly been spoiling his fans. In June, he released his stellar EP, The Prequel, and has since been releasing other unreleased songs via social media. Today (August 2), the rising superstar released “Let’s Just Be Friends,” a track from the forthcoming The Angry Birds Movie 2. On the uptempo and inspiring track, […]
For those who have been fans of Ryan Hurd for years, the Panorama EP is an old-friend they first met years ago. For those of us who are newer fans of Hurd, the EP is a welcomed new release from one of Nashville’s most talented and prominent singer-songwriters. Originally written and recorded in 2015 when […]
Don’t ever accuse Billy Currington of not paying attention. On his new single “Details” (released today, July 19), the country hit-maker is celebrating the woman in his life by observing her smallest quirks, often to the point of oblivion to the outside world. The song is a tongue-in-cheek summer anthem that should easily become one […]
It’s safe to assume that most country fans know “God’s Country” as Blake Shelton’s newest monster hit. Likewise, country fans know Devin Dawson as the genre’s newest man in black with hits like “All On Me,” “Dark Horse,” and “I Don’t Care Who Sees.” What fans may not know is that Dawson is one of […]
On Midland’s newest release, “Playboys,” the Texan trio continues to put on a masterclass in traditional yet modern country music. With a toe-tapping melody remnant of the heyday of country music, the group also executes a clever play of words that only elevates the song. While there’s always a risk of getting cheesy with wordplay, […]
There are few artists who personify summer like Kenny Chesney. Today (July 12), Chesney released what just may be the summer anthem of 2019: “Tip of My Tongue.” Despite Chesney’s penchant for beach bars and tiki torches, “Tip of My Tongue,” is lyrically a bit different. Co-written by Chesney, Ross Copperman and Ed Sheeran (!!!), […]
With just under a month until the release of his new album, Late Nights and Longnecks, Justin Moore continues to tease fans with new songs, including “Someday I Gotta Quit,” released today. Written by Moore, Casey Beathard, Paul DiGiovanni, and Jeremy Stover, the song follows in the footsteps of the other tracks released so far. […]
There are few things more powerful in music than real human emotion. When I think about the songs that have moved me the most in my life, I think about those moments where I could feel the artist’s every word and every emotion. So is the case on Chris Young’s newest release, “Drowning.” Young premiered […]
Since the January release of their debut EP, Tides, Gone West has been making major waves in country music. On Friday (June 7) the foursome released their new single, “What Could’ve Been,” a heart-wrenching ballad about love lost. With somber instrumentation and heartfelt harmonies, the quarter is filled with regret and wondering. Interestingly, Gone West […]
