On Monday night, music fans at New York City’s Hulu Theater inside Madison Square Garden were in for quite the surprise, when two of music’s biggest names and best-known voices joined forces for an incredible performance. As part of the Stand Up for Heroes benefit, which raises money and awareness for the Bob Woodruff Foundation in support of veterans, Eric Church hit the stage with “The Boss” himself, Bruce Springsteen.

The gravel-voiced rockers combined their distinct sounds on an acoustic take on Springsteen’s classic, “Working on the Highway” from his 1984 release, Born in the USA. Social media was abuzz from the performance, as you can see below:

During his own set, Church performed tracks from his new album Desperate Man, including the title track and “Hippie Radio,” in addition to an unreleased song called “Standing Their Ground.”  As fans of “The Chief” know, Church can credit “The Boss” for one of his best-known hits, 2011’s “Springsteen.” The Stand Up for Heroes benefit also included Jon Stewart, Seth Meyers, Jim Gaffigan, and Jimmy Carr.

Eric Church will hit the road again in 2019 with his Double Down Tour, including two nights across North America in cities such as Omaha, Boston, Los Angeles, Detroit, Toronto, and more. For a full list of tour dates, visit his official website.
