Keith Urban, the 4-time Grammy award winner with 23 number one hits, headlined NBC’s The Today Show Citi Concert Series this morning. Before the show got started one lucky lady had her birthday wish come true. Urban, along with the Today Show anchors, sang her happy birthday.
Moms, daughters, teachers, husbands, and more were swooning over Urban as he took the stage. He started with his latest single “Coming Home” and got the crowd moving. Julia Michaels also made an appearance for her part and brought a whole new energy. In between commercial breaks, Urban was interactive with the crowd taking photos and shaking hands.
Next up, he performed “Never Comin Down” which is slated to be the next single from his record Graffiti U. “Never Comin Down” has a catchy beat and is a definite party-starter song. Though it is a track that hasn’t had any airtime on the radio yet, the fans that filled the plaza still knew every single word.
The Today Show held a poll and asked fans to tweet either #WastedTime or #SomewhereInMyCar, choosing which song they wanted to hear. “Wasted Time” got an overwhelming amount of screams as his vocals kicked in. His guitar playing skills and captivating vocals stole the crowd from the very beginning. This is not the first time Urban has played for the Summer Concert Series and he raises the bar every time. Keith Urban is continuing on his Graffiti U Tour through February 2019. Not only does he put on a show himself but he picks great opening acts. With Kelsea Ballerini and Lindsay Ell joining him on select dates, these ladies open the show with so much energy and get the crowd moving. New Yorkers can catch the show which hits Barclays Center on October 27th.
