Seth Ennis Makes His TODAY Show Debut with “Call Your Mama”

Earlier this morning, country music recording artist Seth Ennis made his debut on NBC’s ‘TODAY with Kathie Lee and Hoda’. The singer-songwriter performed his heartfelt single, “Call Your Mama,” (featuring Little Big Town), to a live studio audience.

Co-hosts Hoda and Jenna Bhager, filling in for Kathie Lee, gave Ennis a warm welcome to the stage, introducing him to the audience as “A rising country star with a smooth sound and y’all are gonna love it- You’re about to hear it.” Bhager continued, “We’re talking about Seth Ennis, who has a hit song right now. It’s called “Call Your Mama.” If you haven’t heard it, grab a box of tissues,” as the telecast cut to some clips of the track’s touching music video.

Just before his heartfelt performance, the anchors took some time to discuss the song and its meaning, sharing that the song was inspired by Ennis’ own mother. The rising country artist shared a sweet sentiment with the women. “Yeah for this song, my mom- She’s totally watching. She texted me one day, we’re from South Georgia. She texted me one day, “call your mama, call your mama, call your mama.” So I freaked out, gave my Mom a call, make sure everything’s okay, and she just wanted to talk about some small town drama that every mama has, and I ended up writing that down as a song title, and I wrote the song, and yeah.” Ennis also gave his mother a shout out, just before his live performance.

Backed by a three-piece band, the singer delivered an effortless performance with smooth vocals and touching lyrics, clearly connecting with the co-hosts and the studio audience. It was evident that the song has meaning to the artist.

Next up, Ennis will continue to perform as an opener on Dylan Scott’s ‘Nothing To Do Town Tour.” The tour hits New York City’s Gramercy Theatre tonight.  To continue following along with Seth Ennis’ blossoming career, head to sethennis.com, and make sure to follow him on social media.
