“You got it figured out // Imma sit back and watch cuz // You know your way around // Like I swear nobody else does // Using fingertips like a paintbrush // I’m your work of art that’ll never be done // You got it figured out”

Calling it a “Sunday morning song,” the singer decided to release the song with a playlist of some of her favorite tunes that fit with the vibe of the new track. She added on her social media platforms, “I’m putting this song out on a Sunday bc when I pictured y’all listening to it’d hoped it was Sunday morning while you’re either being lazy & still laying in bed, or getting ready for church, or doing chores, or cooking, or riding around in the car when it’s beautiful out.”

Whenever you decide to listen to it, we’re sure that fans of music everywhere will fall in love with Cavalier’s newest tune.

Lacy Cavalier Bares Raw Emotion on “This Ain’t Love”

Lacy Cavalier This Ain't Love

One of our favorite independent rising artists, Lacy Cavalier is the complete full package. Between her powerhouse vocals, sassy personality, and heartfelt songwriting, she can truly do no wrong. Proving that she is all about her fans, the songstress finally released a recorded version of her heartbreaking ballad “This Ain’t Love” with a music video featuring her fans lip-synching the touching lyrics.

The song’s central theme is about realizing that you deserve more and that sometimes your relationship is not what you thought it was. Cavalier has a way of creating deeply personal music that resonates with listeners’ own experiences, showcasing exactly why she has such a supportive fan base behind her. She has a knack for putting words to even the deepest feelings and for truly creating musical poetry.

“I turned all of my picture frames face down so I don’t see you around the house / But the minute I walk out the door / The ghost of what we were before surrounds this damn town”

In preparation for her music video, Cavalier asked fans to enter a contest via her Instagram and a few lucky winners were randomly selected. Each participant got an advance listen of the song so that they were able to send the singer-songwriter back a video of them singing the track. In just a few short hours that the video has been live, fans have already flocked to their social media to support the sensational visuals and give credit to Cavelier’s authenticity and talent.

6 Undiscovered Female Artists You Should Be Listening To

We’re loving the changing of the tides that is occurring in the country music scene. It’s been an exciting month for the ladies, as Maren Morris’ song “GIRL” went number 1 on country radio and Grammy-nominated songwriter, Nicolle Galyon unveiled her newest project, an all-female label named Songs & Daughters.

Female musicians are making sure their voices are heard in the industry and delivering songs with lyrics that aim to empower women. We’ve already shared 6 of our favorite rising female artists that we are loving, but here are 6 more undiscovered, yet extremely talented female artists that deserve the spotlight too!

1. Lacy Cavalier

Listen: “Cheating On U”

One of our newest Swag Sessions alumni, Lacy Cavalier is taking the music industry by storm! She is sassy, beautiful, and passionate, with killer vocals to match. At only 22 years old, it’s only a matter of time until everyone knows her name. She just released her newest EP, k i’m done, which is filled with heartfelt, honest, and relatable songs that will be stuck in your head in no time! Make sure to give it a listen and keep up with her via Instagram and Twitter.

2. Hailey Whitters

Listen: “Ten Year Town”

Singer-songwriter Hailey Whitters is one to look out for! She’s no stranger to the music industry, as she’s been songwriting since she was a teenager. Currently, she is holding her own on tour with prolific singer-songwriter, Lori McKenna and we caught her set just last month at City Winery. Later this year, she will open for superstar Maren Morris. Whitters is poised, honest, and primed for success. Listen to her song “10 Year Town” to get a taste of her unique talent and be sure to follow her on Instagram and Twitter.

3. Hannah Ellis

Listen: “Friends Like These”

Another artist that we are loving is Hannah Ellis. She performed at our inaugural ‘Babes, Booze & Brunch’ event back in 2018, as well as, opened for Walker Hayes at Mercury Lounge the same year. She is a clever lyricist and songstress that truly sings from her heart. Check out debut single, “ILY So What” and “Home and Hometown” which she sang for us during a live Swag Session back in 2018. Most recently, she was chosen as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country and released her brand new single, “Friends Like These.” Keep up with her endeavors via Instagram and Twitter!

4. Renee Blair

Listen: “Girlfriend”

Our next artist signed a publishing deal with SMACK in 2017 and has been a powerhouse ever since. She’s opened up for many great performers in the industry, including Mitchell Tenpenny, Willie Nelson, and Michael Ray; however, she is a stunning performer in her own right. She premiered her newest song “Girlfriend,” earlier this month, which explores the inner workings of her heart as she wishes for a man, who is unfortunately in a relationship. Both a Swag Spotlight and Swag Sessions alum, we know how spectacular Blair is and can’t wait for more people to recognize her talent. Stay in the loop via her Instagram and Twitter.

5. Lauren Duski

Listen: “The Weather (Grandpa’s Song)”

Lauren Duski got her start on NBC’s The Voice, but she is proving her staying power with her independently released debut EP entitled Midwestern Girl. She plays with the gamut of emotions on the heartfelt record, especially on songs, “The Weather (Grandpa’s Song)” and fan-favorite “Costume Party.” She earned her spot on this list because of her beautiful songs and unique song-writing. Learn more about Duski in our Swag Spotlight with her, as well as, by following her on Instagram and Twitter.

6. Kelleigh Bannen

Listen: “Happy Birthday”

Rounding out our list is seasoned singer-songwriter, Kelleigh Bannen. The Nashville native is a vocally-gifted storyteller. She delivers epic lyrics in her songs, “Happy Birthday,” “Deluxe,” and her newest track, “Faith In You.” Bannen is an artist, who is equally as impressive on emotionally-heavy songs, as well as, sassy uptempo tracks. We featured her in a Swag Spotlight back in 2018, and we can’t wait to see where her career continues to take her. Be sure to follow her on Instagram and Twitter.

We hope you add these talented ladies to your music collection!

Lacy Cavalier Performs At Exclusive NYC Event For Rokt

Lacy Cavalier Rokt

Last night singer-songwriter Lacy Cavalier was the special musical guest at Rokt’s headquarters event for their partners. The beautiful New York City rooftop provided unbelievable views of the Empire State Building as well as refreshing drinks and snacks for the happy hour event. After everyone gathered on the steps leading down to the stage area, Cavalier was introduced and performed songs from her latest project, k i’m done.

The songstress’ soulful voice carried throughout the rooftop and engaged the young crowd as she sang songs like “Blue Suede Couch”, “Simple” and “Tea”. She also did a stunning cover of the late, great Amy Winehouse, “Valerie” which had the audience singing along.

She closed out the night with her single “Cheating On U” which she told us about in our recent Swag Session saying it was the first song that sparked the idea for her EP. Watch the full performance and interview below. After performing the track and a thunderous applause, she yelled into the microphone, “I’ve always wanted to say this: ‘Thank You, New York!’ ” After spending the day supporting the rising artist, we are certain this may have been the first but it will not be the last time she gets to say those words.

NYCS First Impression: Lacy Cavalier ‘k’ i’m done’

Lacy Cavalier K Im Done

At only 22 years old, Lacy Cavalier is a young country artist who certainly isn’t here to play around. Having known that she was made to perform her entire life, the release of her newest EP k i’m done certainly has the potential to gain her the attention and following that her honest, relatable and badass lyrics deserve.

k i’m done features 6 songs that have a pop-country feel and showcase her heart, independence, God-given talent, while at the same time promoting female empowerment. These songs are the type that you will want to blast in your car after a break-up to remind yourself who you are and give you the strength it takes to move on, while at the same time provide you with Instagram selfie captions and lyrics to post for days.

The lyrics of these songs are not only relatable but are very reflective of our society and common views on dating in 2019, something that many people have found almost impossible. Cavalier’s intentions were definitely not to write your average country love song, but to share her stories and feelings in a raw and realistic way, while at the same time displaying her passion and seriously incredible vocal range.

Through songs like “Distraction”, “Cheating on U” and “Single” she shares her experiences of leaving a toxic relationship only to see that person get into another relationship immediately after and dump their problems on someone else. “I been taking my time but you took no time to get back to your game”, she sings in “Single”.

In the track released last week, “Tea”, Cavalier is giving a subtle heads up to her ex’s new love interest, letting them know how awful the guy really is. “Let me serve you some tea, he ain’t what you think”, she sings. And in “Dumbest Thing”, she gets real about accidentally contacting someone who you know you shouldn’t only to realize how ridiculous your thoughts were the next morning, something many of us have experienced first hand.

Last, but certainly not least, “Blue Suede Couch” will have you wanting to listen to her story about a past relationship on repeat for her exceptional vocals on this track. The songstress reminisces from an old couch that has seen the good times and the hard times throughout the story.

She’s soulful, honest and engaging and this 6 song project certainly tells her story and will have you wanting to be her best friend and make you feel bad for anyone who has wronged her in the past. The combination and blending of R&B, pop and country storytelling will definitely encourage repeat spins of k i’m done.

Lacy Cavalier Reminisces From Her “Blue Suede Couch”

As Lacy Cavalier prepares to release her debut EP, K, I’m Done, later this spring, she’s revealing different sides of her personality with each new track. Today (3/22), the soulful songstress released “Blue Suede Couch,” the follow up to January’s “Andre.” On her newest offering, Cavalier shows off her formidable pipes and expressive tone through a mournful ballad that describes the way an inanimate object can play an unexpected role in one’s life. For Cavalier, her blue suede couch holds a ton of memories, both good and bad, and the song truly reveals a different perspective on the ebb and flow of a relationship.

“‘Blue Suede Couch’ articulates the role that my couch played in my 3-year roller coaster of a relationship. The couch saw it all from start to finish. It’s where we had those first crucial conversations when you know you’re falling in love with the person that’s sitting beside you. It’s where we’d plop down after coming home drunk at 2 am in a fight about something stupid. It’s where he’d sleep until it’s where we’d talk it out. It’s where he finally fessed up, broke my heart, and it ended. It’s where I sat and reflected, wrote this song, and healed. I’ve moved 3 times since he first sat on this couch, I still have it, heck I’m sitting on it right now. To be honest, I thought I would’ve been able to afford a new one by now! ;)” she said in a recent press release.

The Louisiana native is currently on tour with Morgan Wallen, with upcoming shows in Los Angeles (3/23), San Diego (3/27), Phoenix (3/28), Las Vegas (3/29), and Salt Lake City (3/30).

Lacy Cavalier Drops New Single “Get Away With It”

Lacy Cavalier’s new single “Get Away With It” dropped on Friday, December 7, and it’s a sneaky, sassy twist on love and putting a man in his place of making her get away with falling in love with him.  She puts her feelings into words that reflect with what her fans also experience, these songs are resonating with many. The music video setting is a New York romantic scene from Times Square to riding the subway and fits the song perfectly.

She shared on social media and in the description of the music video, “The night I wrote this song I knew I wanted to share it with y’all. I started writing it as an exercise first. I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. And feeling/writing sexy was and still somewhat is very far out of my comfort zone. As I began jotting things down I realized that I associated “sexy” or my confidence in that area, with one person. They were the only person that could make me act in a way that was unlike me. Or make me feel things that I’d never experienced before. I didn’t even notice until it was over tho bc I was fully in it, unwavering for so long. Now looking back it felt sneaky, like he got away w making me fall in love w him, making me who he wanted me to be, then leaving as nothing had ever happened. That it was “Get Away With It” is to me. Hope it resonates with you too.”

Cavalier’s empowering and fiery personality is keeping everyone on their toes and you can see it in in her latest two tracks dropped. Click here to check out “Cheating On U”  and stream “Get Away With It” on all digital platforms now.

Lacy Cavalier Releases Poignant Single “Cheating on U”

Lacy Cavalier, a member of Song Suffragettes, has officially released her brand new single, entitled “Cheating on U,” to all streaming and purchasing platforms. Song Suffragettes is a collective of female songwriters dedicated to showcasing female musical talent in Nashville, Tennessee. Cavalier previously released a vlog style lyric video for the track on her YouTube channel last month, with no intention of releasing it as an official single. In the description of the video, she discusses how important this song is to her and why she had doubts about releasing it. “I wrote this song a little over a year ago and honestly never thought it’d be something I’d release. It felt too invasive,” she honestly writes. “But the more I lived with it, the more I realized that there’s no way I can be the only person that has had these thoughts.”

The singer-songwriter begins the video with a personal message to what seems to be to an ex-boyfriend, which this song is about. Cavalier mouths the lyrics along to the tune while sipping on a glass of wine, roaming around her apartment. The vulnerably honest track tells the intimate story of her past relationship, predominantly the negative aspects. She sings in the chorus, “I wish I didn’t feel like you’re the one / Still, it doesn’t really feel like this is done / When I’m out here on dates, tryna find new love / Yeah it’s been a month or two, since we said that we were through / So why does it feel like I’m cheating on you”.

Be sure to follow Cavalier on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for updates and future song releases.
“Cheating on U” is now available everywhere you stream or buy music.
