Lauren Davidson Shares Brand New Track “I Don’t Need Your Reason”

Lauren Davidson’s new song “I Don’t Need Your Reason” is out today, October 22nd, on all streaming platforms. Learn more about the brand new track below.

Throughout the last several months, Lauren Davidson has delivered song after song to round-out her project Hindsight is 2020. She delivers powerhouse vocals on each and every song including her most recent “A Little Love.” Today, the New York native shares her second to last song on the EP called “I Don’t Need Your Reason.”

On this new track, Davidson leans into herself even more, showcasing both the pain and the grit we go through during the demise of a relationship. She rejects needing anything from an ex, exclaiming “I don’t need your reason,” in the powerful chorus. Davidson has a knack for singing and writing truthful and vulnerable music.

According to the singer, the song was written with frequent collaborator, Tommy Cole, when they finally saw each other in person again after quarantining during the pandemic. “I had recently gone through a breakup and he was asking me a bunch of questions as I cut him off and said – I don’t need a reason,” she stated. “He stopped in his tracks and said we’re going to write that right now and we did.  I’m definitely someone who likes closure in every scenario and we don’t always get that – actually we rarely often do and I got to process that through writing this song that day. Music truly does heal.”

We look forward to the next and final song in Davidson’s heartfelt project. Congrats to the singer-songwriter on another great song!

Lauren Davidson Shines On New Song “A Little Love”

Our friend, local artist, and Country Swag’s On Air Personality, Lauren Davidson continues to release songs that we fall in love with. As we await her next EP, HINDSIGHT is 2020, the songstress continues to drop songs to keep us excited. Following her single “Silver Linings,” Davidson dropped her new song “A Little Love” today.

The new song is the fifth song off the upcoming project. Unlike the last release, “A Little Love” is a heartbreaker. The song feels straight from the heart and gives us a deeper look into the singer’s journey. According to Davidson, “This song “A Little Love” is the most personal and vulnerable song I have ever written.  It started from an actual page out of my diary.” She added later,  “To love something you have to risk losing it and we’ve all experienced a lot of loss this past year. I wanted to share a deeper part of myself with my fans and give them a piece of my messy heart.”

“The last time I was on the stage // It was the third week of March // April 4th you went and walked away with pieces of my broken heart // Someone asked and I said the wrong age because I forgot how old I was // Cause it feels like nothing has changed // and everything all at once // Sometimes, it feels like, I’m stuck between these four walls”

Davidson delivers authenticity and relatability on this new song. We praise her for being able to be this open and honest with her fans. “A Little Love” is one of her best songs to date.

Lauren Davidson Releases Brand New Song “Thinking About You”

Lauren Davidson’s new song, “Thinking About You” is available now, May 14th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new song.

Lauren Davidson's new song, "Thinking About You" is available now, May 21st, on all streaming platforms

We love supporting our local New York/New Jersey country artists, and Lauren Davidson is one of our favorites. Fresh off the heels of dropping her fiery single “BACKFIRE,” the songstress keeps the momentum going with her newest jam, a song called “Thinking About You.”

Bringing her killer vocals and sassy personality to centerstage, Davidson speaks her truth on her new single. According to the songstress, the song was inspired by a real-life breakup. “Thinking About You” embodies all the feelings we feel, when we go through a break-up and are over missing that person. Allowing her powerful boss vibes to come out, the singer confidently decides that she is done wasting her time thinking about an ex.

“Baby, You know you drive me crazy // But I won’t let that phase me // Cause it’s a waste of time // Maybe, I was just too blind to see, you were playing hide and seek // Well love’s a gamble and  I rolled the dice // Guess what I’m finally through // Thinking about you”

The anthemic sounds of the new song is one of our favorite things about it and about Davidson’s talent as a whole. The song is the perfect jam for anyone who is needing a wake-up call to really start healing and move on from a past relationship. If you need a pick-me-up, just add “Thinking About You” to your girl-power anthems playlist!

Lauren Davidson Releases Brand New Song “Backfire”

Lauren Davidson’s new song, “Backfire” is available now, March 19th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the track.

We love supporting our local New York/New Jersey country artists, and Lauren Davidson is one of our favorites on the scene. Following the success of her last single, “Live In The Light,” the songstress just released a brand new song entitled “Backfire.”

The new single was written by Davidson with Adam McDonough. “Backfire” is a song that expresses both the good and bad in life. In fact, the singer-songwriter shares having faith in the future, but knowing that there’s going to be hardships along the way that she will overcome. The very realistic approach to life is both inspiring and uplifting at the same time, especially in current times.

I light the match and wait for the backfire // Watch it burn so fast feel the flames grow higher // With every breath that I’m holding // I’m holding out for my moment // I light the match and wait for the backfire // Wait for the backfire”

According to Davidson via her social media, “the song is about rising from the ashes when things don’t go your way and making your own spark.” The track is our first introduction to the singer’s upcoming EP entitled Highlight Is 2020, slated for release later in the year.

Lauren Davidson’s New Song “Halfway to Hungover” Rounds Out EP

Lauren Davidson’s final song of her Love Ain’t Fair EP is here. “Halfway to Hungover” is an edgy breakup song that everyone trying to forget about someone needs to hear.

Lauren Davidson Halfway to Hungover

Written by Davidson and Tommy Cole, “Halfway to Hungover” opens with a fierce guitar chord that sets the rocker tone for the whole song. Throughout the track, the singer-songwriter sticks to who she is, a talented artist who continues to put her own spin on country music.

Breakups are hard. And while there’s no easy way to get over someone, our Swag Spotlight Alum reminds us that alcohol can certainly help. The song takes place at a bar, a setting where we can’t wait to be able to fully enjoy again, where the heartbroken subject sits down ready to forget about their ex by taking a few shots. By the end of the track, we are reminded that while it is not an easy thing to do and may take some time, it is possible to get over the person who broke our heart.

“Halfway to hungover / Giving me that feeling that I still got inside/ Not drunk but I ain’t sober / Betting that I’m getting over you tonight / Almost there with the hurt and the burn go down smooth / Halfway to hungover and hardly over you.”

The New Jersey native began releasing bits of her EP on Valentine’s Day, with the title track “Love Ain’t Fair”. The five-song project is a must listen. This Saturday Davidson will be virtually performing on Facebook Live for Urban Country Jam Crowdfunded Live Stream Addition. She will be joined by Brandon Ray and Nick Hickman. Lauren Davidson Releases Empowering Track “Find Me”

Lauren Davidson Find Me

Lauren Davidson is not a newcomer to NYCountry Swag. She is a local New York City country music artist and was featured as a Swag Spotlight artist back in 2018. Through the years she has opened for countless artists such as LOCASH, Old Dominion, Justin Moore, and more.

The songstress recently released an uplifting single “Compass” and is now back with empowering new single “Find Me.” It’s a self discovery track, a journey of finding one’s self after a relationship. This song validates Davidson’s strength after a relationship with her strong vocal capabilities. It’s a girl power anthem filled with upbeat melodies and enchanting chordal progressions. She sings: “When I tell her what you did she said, “Forget him, it’s his loss” // So I bought another round, bartender pours one shot // Now I’m drinking all alone to someone that I forgot // Didn’t know I was so far gone // ‘Til you were gone and out of scene // Who knew all I’d need was losing you to… Find me”

“Find Me” was inspired about finding myself after a relationship,” said Lauren in a press release. “We all make sacrifices for the ones we love and when that ends it’s really empowering to get reacquainted with yourself and your needs and what you really want.”

The singer + songwriter shared her excitement as well as her thank you’s in her recent Instagram post, “I remember it like it was yesterday – the feeling I had after writing this song with @tommycolecountry – to the first demo with @cristiancamilocastro & watching this baby come to life in the studio with @davericcomusic – I hope you feel some of that magic when you listen !!
