Filmore Makes His National Television Debut On TODAY

Filmore Today Show

Earlier this morning, breakout country music artist and one of our 2019 Artists to Watch, Filmore, made his national television debut on NBC’s Today Show. He took the stage during the 10 am-hour with co-anchors, Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Hager, performing his new single “Slower.”

Before performing his infectious chart-climbing single, Savannah and Jenna, came to the stage to introduce and talk to the singer-songwriter. While chatting with Filmore, Jenna mentioned that he has sold out clubs around the country while his music has been streamed more than 60 million times. Before going into his performance Savannah asked Filmore, “Did you know this was going to catch on the way it did?” with him responding humbly, “No, you can’t predict this. You know I write a song and just hope it picks up and you perform and you hope people sing it back and everything that’s been happening I’m beyond grateful and I can barely talk about it, so thank you!”

After the quick interview, Filmore kicked off the morning, giving viewers at home an upbeat and energized performance to remember. At the end of the performance, the studio erupted in cheers, while Savannah and Jenna came back on stage clapping and cheering saying, “That’s how you do it, that was so good!… We love that you were having so much fun, you made us all dance!” making it a moment to never forget.

Maren Morris Takes over TODAY on Album Release Day

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Maren Morris released her sophomore album, GIRL, today, on none other than International Women’s Day. The record is filled with girl-power anthems, funky and unique sounds, and heartfelt lyrics, sure to resonate with fans across all genres. In order to celebrate that milestone, Morris performed some of her hits and new songs on NBC’s TODAY.

In the first segment, the songstress and one of the co-hosts had an important and open dialogue about her journey and International Women’s Day, as well as, introducing a new digital series, sponsored by Citi that both TODAY and Morris are taking part in. The ‘See Her, Hear Her,” initiative will provide up and coming female musicians with mentoring to advance their careers and gender equality in the music industry. Morris has signed on to be a mentor, sharing “Well I am a woman in the industry. Anytime, I can help kinda share some of my light with someone else- I think it’s all about paying it forward […]. I am such a girls girl, this day is already so inspiring. It’s incredible.”

After a brief conversation about the new initiative, Morris was ready to perform some of her songs to an audience full of excited fans, already filling the outdoor Plaza. Beginning with her latest hit and current single, “Girl,” the singer-songwriter mesmerized fans with her vocals and stage presence. Rocking a statement black dress with thigh high boots, Morris outwardly showed her internal strength. Fans were singing along during the entire performance of the sure to be hit.

After a short commercial break, Morris was back with all of the co-anchors of TODAY, where she learned that after just a few hours, Girl already hit the number 1 spot on iTunes all genres chart. A tearful Morris, shared, “Well it [this journey] makes me pretty emotional. It looks so beautiful out here. There’s so many amazing men and women out here celebrating International Women’s Day,” just before singing her next song off the new record “The Bones”. The sassy and honest love song embodies Morris’ unique and inspiring confidence while showcasing her amazing songwriting skills. She made sure to interact with fans, while she sang the lyrics to the new track. Morris ended her early morning performance with her smash hit “The Middle,” which fans and co-hosts alike were clearly loving, as they danced and sang along throughout the song.

Following her whirlwind performance, Morris sat down in the studio with co-hosts, Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones, in a segment called ‘Catching Up With Maren Morris.” Melvin welcomed her back stating, “[Morris] flat out rocked the plaza a few minutes ago.” Throughout the segment, Morris shared her feelings about releasing GIRL, the song-writing process, and her reasoning for releasing, “Dear Hate,” Melvin’s favorite song.

“It feels kinda surreal, just because we’ve been sitting on these songs for so long. I wrote some of them four years ago, so to have them out for the world to consume now, not just for my husband and I listening in our kitchen […]. It’s about having the music out to the fans.” Melvin ended the segment calling Morris “a light,” and encouraging fans to go out and listen to her new record.

Morris embarks on her headlining tour ‘Girl: The World Tour’ tomorrow, bringing fellow female country artists Casadee Pope and Raelynn along for the ride. New Yorkers have two chances to catch the show on May 3rd at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, and May 4th at Terminal 5 in Manhattan.

Rising country star, Morgan Wallen is taking over New York City today, making his first stop at the ‘TODAY with Kathie Lee and Hoda.’ The singer continues to garner more and more fans with his distinctly country vocals and unique connection with fans. Later tonight, the singer-songwriter will play his first NYC headlining show at Irving Plaza, but first, he sang his current single “Whiskey Glasses,” off his debut album If I Know Me, as part of the Citi Concert Series.

Just before the performance, the co-hosts chatted with Wallen about his success, his debut album, and his headlining tour, stating “Ever since Rolling Stone called him a country artist you need to know, Morgan Wallen has been taking the country music world by storm.” The Tennessee native shared that he has been playing music his whole life but really began focusing on singing and songwriting after an injury sidelined him from playing baseball.

A few minutes later, with a full band to support him, Wallen took the stage to perform “Whiskey Glasses.” Donning his signature mullet and sleeveless flannel, the singer gave an enticing performance of the song. Wallen relied on his raspy and twangy vocals and his confident attitude to deliver a cool and energetic performance of the track, even flirting with the camera at times. Back in 2016, singer-songwriter Russell Dickerson performed at New York Country Swag’s very first event at Libration in NYC. Just a year later, he released his debut album, Yours, which continues to garner more and more success. Flash forward to today, earlier this morning, the hitmaker performed his number one hit “Blue Tacoma” on NBC’s ‘Today with Kathie Lee & Hoda’ for the second time in his blossoming career co-hosts Hoda and Jenna Bhager excitedly introduced Dickerson sharing, “Its been a very good year for Russell Dickerson. Not only was he named Billboard’s Number 1 emerging artist, he also landed two consecutive number one singles. Tomorrow, Russell hits the road, kicking off his first co-headlining tour, but before he wants to sing for us his hit song “Blue Tacoma” off his debut album Yours,”

Just before the performance, the co-hosts chatted with the singer about his co-headlining tour with country singer Carly Pearce, his inspiration for his famous $6 music video for “Yours,” and of course shouting out his beautiful wife, Kailey. Dickerson shared the sweet sentiment, “From day one, before we had any budget, before we had anything going on – I had her. We shot the ol’ music video for my first single “Yours,” and that’s honestly what kinda put us on the map, and got us started, got us going,” adding later “what a babe,” when the cameras showed his wife. Dickerson delivered a high-energy and entertaining performance of “Blue Tacoma” from the first note. His energy and enthusiasm for performing and his music is seemingly unmatched.

Clearly having fun, the rising country star played with his vocals and his lyrics throughout the entire performance, adding to his lyrics, “It’s right here- baby, on the Today Show.” Check out the full performance above. Dickerson embarks on his co-heading, ‘The Way Back Tour,” with Carly Pearce starting in Cleveland. He will also play Madison Square Garden in September, as a supporting act on Thomas Rhett’s headlining tour. Head to russelldickerson.com for tickets and more information.

Jimmie Allen Joins TODAY For ‘Guys Tell All’ and Performs His New Song

Jimmie Allen Today Show

Rising country star and NYCS artist to watch (2018), Jimmie Allen is becoming a fan-favorite on ABC’s TODAY with Hoda and Kathie Lee. The musician has appeared on the television show four times in just the last few months, as both a performer, co-host, and panelist. This morning, Allen was invited back to set to participate in the ‘Guys Tell All‘ segment for the second time and to perform his latest song, “Make Me Want To” off his debut album Mercury Lane.

Once again, the all-male panel consisted of reality star, Ben Higgins, comedian, Chuck Nice, and celebrity gym trainer, Don Saldino. This time around, the men answered questions pertaining to New Years, older women, women proposing, deal-breakers in dating, and much more. Introduced as the “chart-topping single dad,” Allen shared his deal-breaker with the co-hosts and fellow panelists, “My deal-breaker is someone who’s not motivated, someone who’s not ambitious, not chasing anything. No matter what she’s chasing, she has to be doing.” Additionally, the singer-songwriter agrees that women are sexiest in comfy clothes, sans makeup, and just rocking some confidence. Check out clips from the segments here, as well as, the battle of sexes game the co-hosts and panelists played together.

At the end of the segment, Allen took the stage yet again to perform as part of the Citi Concert Series. Hoda and Kathie Lee gave the newcomer a warm welcome, “He spent the entire morning with us, but we could not let one of the hottest acts in country go cause we needed a performance. We’re talking about our friend Jimmie Allen, who had quite the year with the release of his debut album, and his hit single “Best Shot.” He’s treating us to his latest song, it’s called ‘Make Me Want To.’”

Allen shared his inspiration for the song, just before having the time of his life on stage, “So I’m a sensitive guy and I wanted to write a song about seeing a girl at a bar that you like, but also, I’m the one that’s normally catching feelings first […] You’re amazing, I like you, I’m the cool guy, but if I’m being honest it might be too soon to say I love you, but you’re gonna make me want to.”

The singer-songwriter appeared so comfortable on stage, as he belted the lyrics, interacted with his fellow co-hosts and panelists, as well as, showed off some of his signature dance moves. Check out the entertainer’s entire performance here!

Next up, Allen will hit the road on Scotty McCreery’s ‘Season Change Tour.’ The tour makes its way to Long Island, New York in January. Find tickets here. Fans can catch the singer on select dates of Kane Brown’s 2019 ‘Live Forever Tour’ this new year as well. Head to jimmieallenmusic.com for tickets and more information.

Brett Eldredge and Edgar Boogie FaceTime with Kathie Lee & Hoda

Brett Eldredge with Edgar Boogie

Brett Eldredge with Edgar Boogie

Country superstar, Brett Eldredge made a special appearance on The Today Show via FaceTime this morning with his best bud, Edgar Boogie. Their appearance was originally scheduled for last week to celebrate National Dog Week, but was unexpectedly rescheduled. Just minutes before the quick interview, Eldredge took to his Instagram stories to tell everyone to tune in to Kathie Lee and Hoda’s segment. The duo did not make it into the famed New York City studio, but instead FaceTimed from the singer-songwriter’s Nashville home.

The appearance was all about the precious pup and his music video debut in the Edgar Cut of “Love Someone”. During the interview fans can see Edgar falling asleep on his dad’s arm, not at all phased about being on the morning show. They showed a snippet of the heart-warming music video, showcasing Edgar’s overall acting ability and incredible cuteness. After playing the clip, Kathie Lee jokingly added, “It’s a little unsettling, No I’m kidding!”

With Edgar dozing off, it was up to his dad to answer the questions, when Hoda asked, “What did Edgar like most about the dinner?” Eldredge responded, “The steak of course, I could not keep him off…Eventually he chilled out and he got steak and he was happy!” Before concluding the appearance, the country superstar said, “He did amazing the whole video, he’s a pro!”

It’s clear to see the love that The Today Show co-anchors have for Eldredge, before the FaceTime ended, Kathie Lee mentioned how he should be their co-host all the time, with Hoda instantly agreeing. Maybe the next time Eldredge comes to New York, we will see him co-hosting with the dynamic duo again.

New Yorkers, can catch Brett Eldredge on the recently announced Glow Live tour at the historic Beacon Theatre on December 11th.

For tickets and more information visit bretteldredge.com and follow along with Eldredge and his superstar pup on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
