Luke Combs Releases Acoustic “Forever After All” In Weekly Series

Luke Combs released an acoustic preview of “Forever After All” from his upcoming What You See Ain’t Always What You Get Deluxe album, out this Friday, October 23rd. This marks the final track of Combs’ Weekly Series, in which the singer-songwriter has taken to social media every Monday over the past five weeks to perform an acoustic snippet of each of the five new songs from the forthcoming deluxe album. Watch “Forever After All” below:

Combs originally previewed this track on TikTok. The glowing reviews from fans caused him to make it a part of his deluxe album. Clearly inspired by his new wife, Nicole Hocking, Combs gives us a love song that completes the trilogy of hits that have come before, including “Beautiful Crazy” and “Better Together.” The unreleased ballad reflects how love knows no bounds and will truly last forever even in death.

“They say nothing lasts forever / But they ain’t seen us together / Or the way the moonlight dances in your eyes / And I know there’ll be a moment / The good Lord calls one of us home and / One won’t have the other by their side / But heaven knows that won’t last too long / Maybe some things last forever after all”

The deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get also includes new songs “Cold As You,” “The Other Guy,” “My Kinda Folk,” and the already released “Without You” featuring Amanda Shires. The highly anticipated project is set to release this Friday, October 23rd, and will be available everywhere you buy or stream music.

Luke Combs Teases Unreleased Song “Sleepless in a Hotel Room”

Luke Combs teased fans with a brand new unreleased song “Sleepless in a Hotel Room”, performing it on social media just before the Billboard Music Awards. Check out the track below and read on as we dig a little deeper into what we know about the new tune.

As if a deluxe record (coming out Friday, October 23rd) isn’t enough, country superstar, Luke Combs continues to prove that he is all about the music and the fans. Just before his Billboard Music Awards performance and subsequent win for Best Country Artist, Combs’ shared an unreleased song entitled “Sleepless in a Hotel Room” on Instagram and Facebook.

Co-written by Combs with Jonathan Singleton and Randy Montana, “Sleepless in a Hotel Room” is all about longing to be with the one you love. As an entertainer, Combs is often away from his loved ones, especially his new wife, Nicole Hocking Combs, who inspired this song. The singer shared on social media, “Trying to take a nap before my @bbmas performance tonight and I couldn’t sleep. It reminded me of this song I wrote a few months ago right before everything shut down. Had this idea one night when I was missing @nicohocking, like I am right now. Hope y’all dig the preview of it.”

Luke Combs unreleased song "Sleepless in a Hotel Room"

“It’s 2 in the morning / TV’s on / And I never felt so far from home / I can hear the lonely howl out my window / The morning light kicks up too soon / Lying here not next to you”

Obviously, we dig it and fans agree! The new song is everything we have come to love from Combs – honest, relatable, real, and catchy! His voice shines on the personal tune, and it is evident that the singer is truly experiencing and feeling everything he is singing. Hopefully, Combs will release this song and another new batch of songs in the near future. Until then, fans can enjoy What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, out this Friday, October 23rd.

5 Unreleased Cuts From Instagram That We Are Loving

Maybe it’s just us, but it seems that lately, country artists are giving fans a taste of what’s to come via Instagram. We are noticing that so many singer-songwriters are previewing unreleased materials and even demos to fans via their social media, just to keep fans excited while we all patiently wait for live music to start up again. Whatever the reason, we are absolutely loving it! We shared five of our favorites back in July and now we’re sharing some more here!

“Still Goin’ Down”- Morgan Wallen

Quite possibly the king of leaking his demos, Morgan Wallen continues to give fans what they want, more music! “Still Goin’ Down” has the potential to be either a killer slow-jam or a fast-paced bop. All about celebrating country roots, (both good and bad) fans will definitely go bananas over this one if it is released!

“Untitled”- Avenue Beat

Our favorite girl gang, Avenue Beat are as real on social media as can be. They continue to gain support from a loyal following because of their talent and authenticity. They have leaked a lot of unreleased music, but this particular song sung by Savana Santos of Avenue Beat is so important. The lyrics remind anyone struggling with depression, loss, suicidal ideation, or loneliness that they are important, wanted, and love.

“That’ll Be Us Someday”- Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett has been writing a ton since quarantine started. “That’ll Be Us Someday” is his latest unreleased ballad, an honest love song for his beautiful and talented wife Lauren. The song is a tearjerker that will most likely be a hit if released.

“Wasn’t Me”- Tucker Beathard

One of the most vulnerable singer-songwriters in mainstream country music right now, Tucker Beathard has a way with words. A day after he wrote “Wasn’t Me,” he shared the written lyrics and an acoustic performance with his fans on Instagram. Who knows if he’ll release this, but damn is it good!

“Go First”- Madison Kozak

Nicolle Galyon’s label, Songs & Daughters flagship artist, Madison Kozak, (and star of our 3rd Annual Babes, Booze & Brunch event!) is everything that is right with country music. Back in August, she shared a demo of a song she recorded on her phone about all of those “first” moments. Calling it her “song baby,” we truly hope she releases this heartfelt song.

Keep up with NY Country Swag, as we will be sure to let you know ASAP if any of these songs are released!

Luke Combs Releases Acoustic “My Kinda Folk” In Weekly Series

Luke Combs released an acoustic preview of “My Kinda Folk” from his upcoming What You See Ain’t Always What You Get Deluxe album. Every Monday over the past four weeks, Combs has taken to social media to perform an acoustic snippet of a new track from the album in a new Weekly Series until its official release on October 23rd. Watch “My Kinda Folk” below:

“My Kinda Folk” is an ode to the hard-working men and southern lifestyle that this singer loves to endure. Lyrically, this song resembles “Blue Collar Boys,” but based on the 27 seconds he teased on his social media pages, it sounds a little more 90’s country-influenced.

There oughta be a law against working this hard and still having this much fun / We get it done, drink a beer, catch a fish, hunt a deer and then we’ll  fire up a little smoke / Me and my kinda folk

Next Monday, Combs will perform the final song and fan-favorite, “Forever After All” which he has previously played live, before officially releasing the five new songs on Friday, October 23rd.

The Best Covers by Luke Combs You Didn’t Know You Needed

Luke Combs covers some of the greatest country music songs in the genre often sharing his reimagined versions with fans via his social media. He is one of the best in the country music world right now and as we anticipate the release of his upcoming deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, we’re sharing some of our favorite songs covered by the superstar singer-songwriter.

“Austin”- Blake Shelton

Back in the beginning of his career, Combs would often cover the song that helped put fellow country superstar Blake Shelton on the mark, “Austin.” Fans can find clips of the singer belting out “Austin” even in 2017; however, earlier this year, Combs reminded fans that he can truly sing anything. His soulful rendition of “Austin” is arguably as good as Shelton’s original.

“Fast Car”- Tracey Chapman

After fans begged him to sing a full version of this song, Combs obliged, and his performance went viral. Combs’ cover is vocally-pleasing, yet effortless. He performed it most recently on one of his quarantine Facebook Lives, and truthfully, we could listen to it all day long.

“The Way I Talk”- Morgan Wallen

Fellow country singer, Morgan Wallen burst onto the scene with his true-blue country tune “The Way I Talk.” As if the stars were aligning, Wallen and Combs shared the stage back on Combs’ headlining tour, and supported one another, singing covers of each other’s songs. Wallen covered “She Got the Best of Me,” while Combs gave a soulful and stripped-down version of “The Way I Talk.”

“What Are You Listening To”- Chris Stapleton

Back in March, Instagram was swirling with the #DeepCutsChallenge. Morgan Wallen challenged Combs and in turn, he covered a song he believed deserved more credit, Chris Stapleton’s “What Are You Listening To.” It is safe to say, Combs’ cover was nothing short of extraordinary.

“Dive”- Ed Sheeran

Interestingly enough, Combs even covered pop-star and songwriter, Ed Sheeran’s song, “Dive” back in 2017. His rendition still pops up on the internet from time to time, even years later. Combs turns Sheeran’s song into a bluesy, goosebump-worthy country song. Combs even recorded the covers at Sound Stage Nashville, as part of a Spotify campaign.

“I Don’t Want This Night To End”- Luke Bryan

It’s hard to remember a time where Luke Combs wasn’t all over the charts and performing at every major venue, but back in 2011, Combs was just another young man, who loved country music. Here’s an old-school cover from the singer of Luke Bryan’s “I Don’t Want This Night To End”. This throwback is just a reminder to all of us that we all have to start somewhere, and of course, that further proves that Combs was born to be a superstar.

As Combs continues to break his own records, we look forward to more new music from him as well as what classic hits he’ll surprise fans with by covering. Luke Combs’ deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get is set to release on Friday, October 23rd, and includes five brand new tracks.

Luke Combs Releases Acoustic “Cold As You” In Weekly Series

Luke Combs released an acoustic version of “Cold As You” from his upcoming What You See Ain’t Always What You Get Deluxe album. Every Monday over the past three weeks, Combs has taken to social media to perform an acoustic snippet of a new track from the album in a new Weekly Series until its official release on October 23rd. Watch “Cold As You” below:

“Cold As You” is a song about the type of bar that helps mend broken hearts. Combs paints the picture of the ambiance, like how “Whiskey River” is playing on the jukebox, how the bathrooms stalls are covered in phone numbers, but most importantly, how the beer they serve is almost as cold as the one who left them.

Good-time numbers on the stall door / Picture of you on the dartboard / Them cinderblock walls ain’t ever been cleaned / Still not as dirty as you done me

Luke Combs Unveils “The Other Guy” In Acoustic Weekly Series

Luke Combs teased a new song titled “The Other Guy” from his upcoming What You See Ain’t Always What You Get Deluxe album. Every Monday, Combs will perform an acoustic snippet of a new track from the album in a new Weekly Series until its official release on October 23rd. Watch “The Other Guy” below:

“The Other Guy,” written by Combs, Jobe Fortner and Rob Williford, is about a guy who looks like he is doing well on the outside but is still grieving over his ex-girlfriend. In the song, the guy runs into his ex in town and she congratulates him on how well he’s been doing with the new job and all. He thanks her even though, deep down, he is still a mess from her leaving.

“You should see the other guy that’s missing you / and late at night he’s wishing you would come back home  / girl, he can’t move on  / and his heart still takes a beating just living with your leaving / and it might look like I’m doing alright / but you should see the other guy”

Morgan Wallen Previews Unreleased Track “Somebody’s Problem”

Morgan Wallen is keeping fans entertained, constantly dangling unreleased music at our fingertips. Between “7 Summers” (which was FINALLY released) and “Wonderin’ About the Wind,” Wallen’s sophomore album is sure to be something special. He even shared a sneak peek of another unreleased demo on his Instagram stories called “Somebody’s Problem.”

Morgan Wallen Somebody's Problem

The newest demo is right on target with the already released tunes that are slated to be a part of the next record. “Somebody’s Problem” is a narrative that is all about a budding new relationship. Wallen, ironically, sings the song in such a way that pays homage to the fact that with the start of one relationship, another one ends.

I think I’m liking where it’s goin’ / I’d like to try me some of somebody’s problem / Somebody’s goodbye / Somebody’s last call number that they can’t find / Somebody’s best day, somebody’s worst night / Somebody’s reason for leavin’ on the porch light”

The hopeful and relatable nature of the lyrics and Wallen’s uniquely special vocals are sure to have listeners swooning. Fans have plenty to be excited about! On top of continuing to release music, Wallen surprised fans with the news that the double record is a go! We will sure have plenty of new music from the superstar in the making sooner rather than later, and we cannot wait.

EDIT 11/20/20: “Somebody’s Problem” along with two additional songs, have officially been released. Learn more here

Thomas Rhett Introduces Two New Unreleased Tracks

ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee, Thomas Rhett has been staying busy during quarantine, performing a ton of new songs he has written for his fans on Instagram. The singer-songwriter debuted two more for us recently, “Bass Pro Hat” and “That’ll Be Us Someday.”

Musically, “Bass Pro Hat” sounds a lot like his hit song, “Unforgettable,” as he sings fast with a similar chord progression and a clap backing every other beat. In the song, Rhett mentions how the term ‘paradise’ to most people means sitting on a beach when it’s sunny and 75, but to him, it’s riding a tractor with his girl sitting on his lap wearing a backwards Bass Pro hat. Check it out in the video below.

“Ain’t got a lot, but we got it made / Steady falling like it’s spring-time rain /
Sweet tea going nowhere fast / Might sound crazy but we like it like that”

There are plenty of romance songs on country radio right now, but no one does them quite like Thomas Rhett. “That’ll Be Us Someday,” if officially released, will be many couples’ wedding song. Presumably written about his wife, Lauren from the perspective of his younger self, Rhett looks forward to his future and paints beautiful pictures of what their life is going to look like together. Each chorus is different; the first one describes their wedding day, followed by raising their children, and finally, growing old and gray, sitting side-by-side on their rocking chairs. Check it out in the video below.

Rhett recently scored his 16th number one single with his “Be A Light” collaboration featuring Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, Chris Tomlin and Hilary Scott. All of the proceeds from that song are going to MusiCares, and Rhett, along with Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta, just made a hefty donation of $100,000. So far, MusiCares and their COVID-19 Relief Fund has helped thousands of people affected by the coronavirus to make ends meet, directly supporting those in the music community as the need remains dire. If you’d like to donate to MusiCares, head to their website here.

Fans on social media have been begging the country superstar to release these songs. We are hoping he will combine all of these tracks and drop an acoustic, quarantine record.

Fans can join our Weekly Round-Up e-newsletter here, for the latest in country music and more news about future Thomas Rhett releases.
